On St. Patrick’s Day 2016, Down Cathedral hosted the launch of a special edition magazine, a collaborative effort by the Evangelical Alliance Northern Ireland, Summer Madness, and 24/7 Prayer Ireland. This publication was created in response to the centenaries of the Easter Rising and the Battle of the Somme. It was an honor to work alongside Peter Lynas to provide all the photography for this meaningful project.
100: Our Story of Healing, Honour and Hope featured a collection of interviews and articles reflecting on the 100 years since the events of 1916, while looking ahead to a hopeful future for the next century.

The magazine includes an array of compelling content, such as interviews with First Minister Arlene Foster, Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness, Northern Ireland’s Attorney General John Larkin, and Ulster Rugby player Ruan Pienaar.
Additional contributors include the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby; former Lord Mayor of Belfast, Nichola Mallon; as well as photo essays highlighting the artwork of the Bogside Artists and Ross Wilson.

Peter Lynas, director of Evangelical Alliance Northern Ireland, shared his thoughts:
“The magazine is part of a larger movement. It involves 100 days of prayer for 100 years of history. We know the decade of centenaries could divide our community. However, we believe this is a moment for the Church to unite. It is also an opportunity to inspire society while reflecting on the events that shaped our land.”

Our Story of Healing
“This magazine explores the narrative of an alternative kingdom. Amid discussions of suffering and sacrifice, we hope for healing. We pray that healing will sweep across our land this Easter. Different groups may contest parts of our shared history. Despite this, we are committed to conversations filled with honor and grace.
“We pray for heavenly solutions that can transform our nation. We also seek stories of hope that inspire and unite.
“Ultimately, we look to the good news of Jesus. His story of reconciliation makes all other reconciliation possible. Our prayer is that this magazine moves the conversation forward. We hope it helps heal the past, honor the present, and inspire hope for the future.”
